The Shadows (a prisoner’s insight) - Fr. Mathew Joseph MI

Large yet confined world we live
Cascades of regret pester us while the world platter pomp
Darkness reign the ruminations of the beloved
Everywhere, echo hearts disgraced

Walls shadow their guilty countenance
Bars fly their mind through muddy pastures
There is sunshine far off
Less frequented by the impregnable sorrows

Candles burn out, lit again
Lovely flowers fade out, bloom again,
Sorrows fail us but rise again,
Awaiting sunshine far off

Where, we awake another blue sky
Serene and fair to live
Where never guilt has been,
Genuine love and conscious living
